Communication & MediaThis office is responsible for communication and media relations for the Diocese and works with bishops, diocesan staff and with parishes to help their communication and communication ministries/programs. Electronic publications include a "family" of online newsletters including a general weekly eNewsletter as well as ones that focus on clergy, parish administration, and more. Karin Hamilton serves as managing editor, and edits several of them. The office also oversees and maintains the diocesan website, www.ctepiscopal.org as well as the related interactive website, www.ctmissionconnect.org and oversees the diocesan Twitter account (EpiscopalCT), Facebook account (Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut), YouTube Channel (EpiscopalCT), Flickr (photo-sharing) account EpiscopalCT. The office also maintaing the diocesan online calendar, and oversees and/or works with online registration. As of August 2011 the office will transition to using eventbrite.com as an online registration provider. A website template is available to parishes and diocesan organizations. The template and training is free; the cost for hosting is $10 a month payable directly to Websolutions Inc. of Meriden, CT. They also developed and hosts www.ctepiscopal.org Good News is a print publication of the diocese, sent to all known Episcopal households. Names and addresses come from the parishes. It is being reformatted to a bi- or tri-annual magazine. The existing database is likely not to be converted, so the office may need to make a fresh request to parishes when the new database is ready to add names and addresses of households. On the bright side, the new database will be able to accept electronic files. There is no publication schedule yet for 2011-2012 (as of 9/5/11). Pass It On has been sent to every parish, to retired clergy, and to clergy widows. It included notices of diocesan events, brief parish/clergy notices, a status of parishes in transition, and a list of upcoming Safe Church workshops. It has been discontinued.
